Weak Compressor: An official Technical Service Bulletin (TSB) LS-204-004 addresses "ELECTRONIC AIR SUSPENSION (EAS) WARNING MESSAGE AND LAMP ILLUMINATION". This deals with the warning message "Suspension Fault - Normal Height Only" message appearing with the Air Suspension Warning Lamp on.
It is a kit for the AMK compressor used on certain Mercedes Benz models, which appears to be the same compressor (AMK only have 6 or so compressors, and 2 HD models which are essentially the same, for larger vehicles.) But the kit is not as easy as the Hitachi rebuild as a press is required. First I need to figure out why it keeps thinking it
There is one on every corner of the rig. For a rookie, take the rear tire off for better access and orientation. The wire loom connector is a bear and you may break the "tabs" off by mistake. Be careful. Two Torx screws (#15 or #20) hold the sensor in place. Re-install is the opposite.
Apr 10, 2017. #1. I have a 2005 LR3 with 170k miles. The suspension compressor would appear not to be working. I get the suspension fault, no special programs, normal ride height only warning sign. No sound from the compressor when I switch on. LR3 has sunk to access height. I would prefer to drive to my usual dealer who is 130 miles away
